Interesting Facts About Moulinex Moulinex has an interesting history. It was originally founded by Jean Mantelet back in the early 1930's and at that time was called Manufacture d'Emboutissage de Bagnolet. Mantelet later changed the name to Société d'Etudes Chimie et Méchanique, but it wasn't until the 1950's that the company had its first instant hit with an electric coffee mill, named the 'Moulinex'. By 1957 the company was known as Moulinex and became France's leader in small, inexpensive domestic appliances. It was also during this time that Moulinex adopted its famous slogan, "Moulinex Libére la Femme!" (Moulinex liberates women). It captured the desires of housewives everywhere eager to escape the drudgery of their household chores and proved a great marketing tool.
