Mini Deep Fat Fryer

Not so long ago deep fat fryers were big affairs, requiring a lot of counter space and copious amounts of cooking oil. But like many other consumer gadgets, miniaturization has reduced the size and capacity to more manageable dimensions. As a result, a new market was born. The mini deep fat fryer.

These high-tech frying marvels have proved very popular, especially with single households and people with very small kitchens. Their main appeal is the fact that they use very little cooking oil and consequently have a very short pre-heat time. A big plus for those with busy lifestyles.

Although there is no specific definition, fryers with a tank capacity under 2 litres are usually considered mini deep fat fryers. Their small size is frequently a two edged sword however. Since there is not a lot of oil they can only cook small portions at once. Overloading a mini deep fat fryer is a sure way to end up with soggy chips.

They also make a good alternative to the more commercially targeted double deep fat fryer. Instead of one large fryer, two smaller mini fryers can often achieve the same results more economically.
